Our founder and designer, Becky, recently had the privilege of visiting and collaborating with the students of the exciting and creative fashion courses at Plymouth Collage of Art, a fantastic local training facility. We've set them a live brief design project, and we're excited to see what they come up with!
Becky knows all too well the transition from education to the real world of business and fashion to be a hard but rewarding challenge, and one that can best be experienced first hand, having recently graduated in 2010 from Plymouth University.
"I would encourage anyone considering embarking on a career in design, business or fashion to make the most of any opportunity to available to try and gain experiences that will add to your portfolio and make to stand out in a very competitive market".
As a social enterprise we appreciate how important education is to further your career chances, and have seen the results first hand with our team in Madagascar, so we thought what better way, to bridge the cross cultural expanse and connect the opportunities we are creating in Madagascar with creative inspiration and education in the UK, than through a live design brief.
The best designs will be considered for potential future development, allowing the students to valuable experience first hand what it is like to design for a client, with a live brief for a specific market, working with specific materials, with the potential of seeing it come to life!
We look forward to seeing the results and continuing to work with the team at PCA.
